The Everest View Trek is perfect for you if you are willing to explore one of the famous trekking trails Everest Base Camp but you do not want to trek up to Everest Base Camp. Trekking up to Namchebazar offers you a fair glimpse into the lives of local Sherpa people from the Everest area. Where you will be accompanied by an outstanding view of the highest mountain in the world, Everest. This trek will allow you to have insights into the local Sherpa life in the Himalayas with an extraordinary, famous town, where trekkers will acclimatize and admire the lifestyle and warm hospitality. Many high steep points would be found, including Everest.

An immense variety of flora and fauna could be seen. The biodiversity of Sagarmatha National Park is simply incredible. You will visit the site and get to know lots of Sherpas in the area. It is a trek that combines natural beauty with the cultures of this region. Khumjung's stunning scenery and unforgettable encounters with famous Sherpa people would make the trip more entertaining. They are expert alpinists without whom the Everest expedition is almost impossible. Sherpa can quickly adapt to the altitude for genetic reasons.

Our trekking up to Temngbouche will start with a flight of 35 minutes to Lukla, Tenzing Hillary Aiport. It would be a fun trip because you will see the beautiful Everest Himalayan Range. On arrival, we will continue our trek across the banks of the Dudh Koshi river. And we will be reaching Gateway of Everest: Namche Bazaar. It is Sherpa hubs where hikers separate for popular different Treks in the Everest region such as Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Lake Trek,  Everest Three passes Trek, and Island Peak Climbing,

In this famous Sherpa town, we will acclimatize with a side trek to Khumjung, explore the Cheese factory, Edmund Hillary funded School and Hospital, Syangboche's highest Everest view hotel, and airstrips, and enjoy great views of Mt. Everest and Ama Dablam.

Go on to Tengboche, where we have a stunning view of Mt. Everest and other peaks. You will tour the ancient Tengboche Monastery while you hear their prayers. Shortly after admiring the scene, we will head to the bazaar of Namche and then move back to Lukla. The path should be fascinating and inspiring as we cross bridges and dense woods through suspension. It is fun to see local animals and to admire the stunning natural scenery.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Everest View Trek is known as trekking of Queens in the Everest region. Literally, this is the hike for very beginner hiker who has strong willing to see the Beauty of Mount Everest with their naked Eyes but they are not ready to go up to Everest Base Camp.  You do not need to have special training on this trip. We would suggest you do some easy hikes before you come to Nepal.  You have to be physically fit and make sure that you are able to make 4/5 hours of easy walk.

Welcome to Nepal. Hope your flight was awesome. So our representative will be there to greet you with the tika and garland. We reflect on the antiquity of our culture. You will be reaching Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, where our representatives will meet and greet you. We will then escort you to a hotel somewhere on a busy street, Thamel. After you check-in, you can rest and relax for a while or explore the tourist hub for some shopping and souvenirs.

Program briefing will be given by this evening at your Hotel.

About 40 minutes of mountain flight will take you to Lukla the gateway of the Everest region trekking in Nepal. In clear weather, the scenes that you see from your plane window are mesmerizing too but during bad weather, the journey can be a bumpy ride as well. 

Lukla airport is considered one of the most exciting and adventurous airports in the world. After reaching Lukla, you will be escorted to a Sherpa settlement, Choplung. After that, you trek along the trail of Dudh Koshi valley before hiking towards Ghat.

The trail ascends slightly for an hour to reach your destination, Phakding. You will spend your night in a lodge.

After your breakfast, you will be heading towards Namche bazaar entering, a beautiful pine forest, and crossing many suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River flowing through Sherpa villages. The rivers you will pass through Benkar, Chioma, Monjo, and Jorsale.

You will be entering the National park from where you can see gorgeously imposing Mt Thamserku (6618m). The trail ascends steadily while crossing the Tenzing-Hilary suspension bridge. You will also have a glimpse of Everest, Nuptse- Lhotse ridge. After 3 hours of continuous walk, you will reach Namche Bazaar.

You will have your dinner and will stay the night at a lodge.

Acclimatization is a very key thing to do while doing high-altitude trekking. We will hike towards Everest View Hotel after having breakfast. From the balcony of this hotel, you have a panoramic view of mountains like Amadablam, Thamserku, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Tabuchi, and others. Lazily stroll back to lodge in Namche observing Everest Museum and hustling of Namche Bazaar.  You will make a day hike to Everest View Hotel.

You will have your breakfast, then trek up to Tengboche. It would approximately take around 5 hours to reach. You can get outstanding views of Mt. Everest and other surrounding peaks if the weather is clear.

You might spot endangered species like Himalayan Thar, musk deers, pheasants, etc. On your way, you will come across pine forest and Tengboche Monastery. Since you will start your trek early morning so you will reach in the afternoon, you will have plenty of time to admire the magnificent Mount Ama Dablam.

After you reach there, you will stay in a guest house and have your dinner.

The Trail is uphill and downhill in today’s journey. Trekkers have to steeply climb the hill until we see Namche Bazaar. We will further descend to this vibrant heartland marketplace of Khumbu region once again for overnight stay. Overnight at Teahouse/Lodge.

After having your breakfast, you will descend to a suspension bridge and pass across many local villages. You will even walk through the Dudh Koshi river valley and its surroundings. You will reach Lukla after 6 to 7 hours of hiking.

You will then check in to your lodge and freshen up for the time being.

Useful Info

Accommodations and Meals:

You will be accommodated at Twin sharing Good Hotel in Kathmandu with Breakfast. During the trek, you will be accommodated in Teahouse. Normally Teahouse is a basic lodge with a private room. Scenic Nepal Treks will arrange the Attached Bathroom room whereas possible for you. During your trek, some of the places, the Bathroom are outside your room.

Guides and Porters:

Your trip will be lead by one of our Experience Sherpa guides. The number of Guides will be confirmed depending on the number of hikers in your group. Further, Porter is optional for you. If you like to have someone carry your bags during the trek, you may purchase Porter at an additional cost ( US$180 for a porter).  A porter can be shared by two people. 

Trekking Insurance

It is necessary to have Trekking Insurance. You may purchase Insurance in your home town.  Please make sure Your insurance will cover all your expenses such as Air Ambulance, Helicopter Rescue, and treatment Costs. It would be very good for you if there will be any emergencies. 

Equipment & Packing List

This list is a guideline to help you pack for your adventure. Also, understand that the items listed below will vary a little according to the season and the trek duration. The weight limit for your luggage is 15 kg.  

Important documents and items:

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds, or Euros in cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
  • Credit cards, Bank/ATM/Cash machine cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines (bring a photocopy of your cards), traveler's checks, etc.

Head:

  • Bandana or headscarf, also useful for dusty conditions
  • Warm hat that covers your ears (wool or synthetic)
  • Headlamp with extra batteries and bulbs
  • Sunglasses with UV protection
  • Prescription sunglasses (if required)

Upper Body:

  • Polypropylene shirts (1 half sleeve and 2 long sleeves)

Lower Body:

  • 1 pair of lightweight thermal bottoms (seasonal)

  • 1 pair of waterproof shell pants, breathable fabric

Feet:

  • 1 pair of Hiking boots with spare laces (sturdy soles, water-resistant, ankle support, “broken-in”)

  • 1 sleeping bag (Scenic Nepal Treks will provide you)

FAQs

Q1. What is the best season to do Everest Base Camp Trek?

Everest Base camp trek can be done at any month of the year. However, we highly recommend you to do a trek between September and May.  Generally, from June onwards until the end of August it’s Monsoon season with lots of rain showers and unpredictable weather. 

Well, your meals and accommodation are already included in your program. However, there are certain things you need to pay for such as Drinks, Wifi, Hot Shower, Electronic Devices charging, etc. From our previous experience with our hikers, you may be spending US$ 15 to US$ 20 Per day but depending on your expenses. You better carry Nepalese Ruppess along the trail. You can exchange in Kathmandu. 

Trekking to Everest Base Camp is a journey of a lifetime. The trip is physical but you have to be mentally prepared. You do not need to have Special training or Qualified but make sure you are able to walk 5 to 6 hours each day. We suggest you do regular Exercise and hiking before you come to Nepal for few weeks.  

In general, it is 11 Days total hiking from Lukla to Lukla including 2 Rest days during the trip. (8 Days going and 3 Days coming down.) There is a daily flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. So the total days of the trip from Kathmandu to Kathmandu are 12 Days. We have offer you Everest Base Camp -14 Days trip package from your arrival til departure. 

It is remarked as a moderate trek which is not very difficult and not also easy. The trail goes slightly up which is easier compare to Annapurna Base Camp. 

No, there is no age limit but you should be physically healthy, fit, and able to trek.

  • Few tips to avoid altitude sickness.
  • No Cigarette or alcohol while going up.
  • Walk slowly.
  • Drink 4 Ltrs water per day.
  • Do not skip acclimatization day.
  • Do not take Diamox before you feel something.

Actually, nobody knows who may get altitude Sick because altitude sickness is very unpredictable. Sometimes our Local Guides and Porter also get suffered from it. Let’s say 95% of trekkers do this Everest Base Camp Trek successfully.

It is about 8 to 10 minutes flight. Sometimes flights may be delayed due to weather. 

Lukla Flight allows you only 15 kg including your hand carry. So please you can leave all unnecessary kinds of stuff in Kathmandu which you do not need during trekking. The hotel has a store Room. 

It depends on which month you are doing this trek. If you are doing it in winter can be less than -15C outside at night. Daytime is warm while walking. In general from September to January and March until June is the best time to do this hike. 

Yes, there is Wi-Fi but not as strong as in the city. You will need to pay extra, USD 3-5 will be charged per device for unlimited use.

Yes, you can charge your phones and other gadgets at the tea houses with charges ranging from USD3- USD 5 per device. Normally the charging point is located at the tea house’s reception counter.

You will have a basic Lodge which is also known as Tea Houses. You will get a private twin sharing room throughout the trek but sometimes at Gorakshep, our last destination can be crowded during peak season. So with limited Tea Houses, it might be chances to share rooms with the others. However, rest assured that we will try our best to provide our clients with the best option. 

No, you will not have a heating system in your room. However, the fireplace is available in the common dining area.

Yes, you need to have good Insurance for trekking. You can buy in your own Country. Please make sure your Insurance Covers Emergency Evacuation and Hospital. A credit card or sufficient cash (approximately USD 3000 - 5000) is required for any emergency evacuation by the Helicopter should the insurance company fails to arrange the Helicopter.

Yes, we encourage you to bring your own medicine from home like the ones we provide might be different which might not be suitable for you.

General headaches and coughs are very common in the mountain. But if you feel very sick then you have to stop to ascend and proceed to make your way down to lower altitude. The representative of Scenic Nepal Treks will be kept in touch with your guide for the entire trip. 

Yes, it is important to have acclimatizaon day during the trek. This is to allow your body to adapt to the rising altitude. 2 Days is sufficient for a 12 Days Everest Base Camp trek.

No laundry service during the trek. You may do your laundry at Kathmandu after the trek.

You can refill your water at the Lodge or restaurant. It is very safe to drink. Optionally you can also have tap water with purification tablets.  Refilling water will cost you about US$ 2 to US$ 5.

Tipping is not compulsory, but they do expect it from you.  You can give them whatever amount that you feel comfortable with the quality of services they had provided throughout the trek. They sure will be enlightened with the token of appreciation from you.

You will have western-style sharing toilets at 80 % of the places. You will have a private twin sharing Room which you will be using with your/Group partner. Please expect a very basic Room with 2 beds.

Yes! You can have western meals during the trek. Scenic Nepal Treks will provide you 3 meals ( Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) and you can choose by menu. All the Tea house/Lodge offers you Western, Indian, and Nepalese Dishes. However Nepalese Dalbaht ( Rice & Curry) is the best. 

If you have limited time, the EBC trek can be shortened to 10 days from Kathmandu to Kathmandu. However, if you would like to take a helicopter down which can make your trip within 9 days from Kathmandu. It is highly recommended to have 14 Days Everest Base Camp trip if you are able to make it.

Everest Base Camp is located at 5,360 meters. However, for those who wish to set their foot on Kalapthhar, you will be reaching 5,500 meters and that will be the highest point for you with the best view of Mount Everest. Please do take note that you will not be able to see Mt Everest from Everest Base Camp.
