Welcome to Nepal!
You will be met by Scenic Nepal Treks and Expedition’s representative at Airport and transferred to the hotel. For the remainder of the afternoon at leisure for you to explore, Kathmandu has more World Heritage sites than any other city in the world. A pre-trek briefing will be given this evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.

The morning we collect pack Breakfast at Your Hotel and we walk to the Tourist bus Park which is about 10 mins walk.

We take Prithvi Highway to reach Pokhara by tourist bus. It takes about seven hours to reach Pokhara via road. You can experience the highway lifestyle of Nepal and also some villages or towns on the banks of the river Trishuli and Marshyangdi. Overnight at Pokhara.

After breakfast, we again set out for about 1.5 hours of bus drive towards Nayapool. This is the place from where our trekking starts. We walk through small roadside towns like Birethanti and Hille to reach Ulleri. This is a comparatively large Magar community village. The trail today is well paved and is easy to walk on.

Having breakfast at your hotel at Tikhe Dhunga, the trail crosses a stream (Bhurungdi Khola) on a suspension bridge to start the long steep climb to the large Magar village Uleri at 2070m. You will be passing through more than thousands of steps along with the stunning views of mountains and Himalayans. Above the village, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields. There are magnificent rhododendrons and oak forests and we lunch in Nangethanti. Thanti is a Nepali word meaning “rest house”. In the winter, the trail can be covered with the show. From Nangethanti about one hour walks to Ghorepani at 2848m. Arrive at the top of the Ghorepani pass and camp there. Overnight in Ghorepani.

Early in the morning, we will hike to Poon Hill for an amazing sunrise view. After gathering momentous memory of sunrise from the Himalayas our journey heads to Tadapani. The walking tours will be around six in today’s trekking.

We will have a comfortable and lazy walk towards Ghandruk. We can have so much spare time to explore this model Gurung Village. And further hike down to Nayapul. From here we take a drive to Pokhara for about 45 mins. Overnight at Hotel.

Early morning at 7 am, we catch a Tourist Bus to Kathmandu. Tonight in Kathmandu, we are going to host you a Nepalese Cultural dinner where you get to experience Nepalese cuisine and live traditional dances.

Useful Info

Accommodations and Meals 

You will be provided Good Hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara including your breakfast. While on the trek, you will be accommodated in Teahouse / Lodge. Tea houses have very basic private rooms with sharing bathrooms. You need to have your own Towel. There will be 3 meals  ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) provided every day during the trekking. You can pick any one item from the menu each time. Comparatively, meals are far better in Poonhill trek than any other longer trek. 

Leader and Staff Arrangements:

It's our main aim to offer your successful trip by keeping you safe during the entire trip. You will be lead by one of our Experience Guide. If you like to have someone carry your bag, you can get a porter with an additional cost of US$ 140 a porter. One porter can be shared by Two hikers.

Trekking Insurance :

Yes! It is mandatory to have insurance for doing this hike. Please make sure you have made good insurance that will cover your emergency evacuation and medical expenses.   

Equipment & Packing List

This list is a guideline to help you pack for your adventure. Also, understand that the items listed below will vary a little according to the season and the trek duration. The weight limit for your luggage is 15 kg.  

Important documents and items

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds, or Euros in cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
  • Credit cards, Bank/ATM/Cash machine cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines (bring a photocopy of your cards), traveler's checks, etc.

Head

  • Bandana or headscarf, also useful for dusty conditions
  • Warm hat that covers your ears (wool or synthetic)

FAQs

Q1. Can beginner trekkers do this trek?

Yes! But make sure you are fit and can walk each day for 5/6 hours. To do this hike, you don’t need to have special training or preparation but have to be physically fit. If you are a beginner, we suggest you do a Private trip than joining the group. Joining with a group is always in rush and you will be under Group’s rules and times. So, you may feel uncomfortable.

It is very easy to obtain a visa to Nepal. Either you can apply for Arrival Visa or you can get it before you arrive in Nepal at your Home town. If you prefer to have an “On arrival Visa” at Kathmandu Airport or any other Nepalese Borders, sometimes you may have to stay at Queue during the high season time. Or, You may visit Nepal Embassy or Embassy Consulate in your country before your arrival in Nepal.

No, there is no laundry service in the trek. You may do your laundry in Pokhara.

Yes, we do accept the last minute with full payment of trip cost. You need to give us at least a day or more. Therefore we will be able to make reservations and Permits making. For your immediate communication, please leave a message at +9779813205235 ( Whatsapp).

Yes, you can postpone your trek and it is free of charge. Please let us know at least 2 weeks before your hike. If you cancel your trip, it will apply similarly to the cancelation policy.

Also, we encourage our clients to postpone their trip if due to any reason they are unable to travel and have to cancel the trip. Canceling the trip incurs clients with a cancellation fee. The deposit they made to confirm the trip will be used as a cancellation fee. So to save money, it is better to postpone the trip.

If you cancel your trip before 48 hours of the trip, you will get a full refund excluding Advance Down payment (20%). And if there is any domestic flight, you need to pay for that as well.

To confirm your trip, you need to send us your Valid Passport Copy along with 20% down Payment. You can send it directly from our Website or we will send you bank details. Our online payment gateway is protected and has a secure firewall. You can make the rest of the payment after you arrive in Kathmandu.

Yes, it is possible only if you are doing the private trip. While on a group trip, we apologies that it is not possible to extend your trip.

Actually, it is not necessary but tipping is just a part of your appreciation for them for their hard works. They play a very role to make your trip successful. There is not exactly how much you should tip but around 20% amount of trip package. Further, you can decide how much you would like to tip.

Yes! All our guides are certified and experienced Trekking leaders. Most of them are from rural parts/ Mountains from Nepal and done hike over the past 10 years plus.

It depends, If a hiker is capable to continue their trek, they can. But If the trekkers are serious and facing critical conditions, she/he has to get down to City. It is too risky for everyone.

Our guides are qualified to handle small, primary medical emergencies as they are first-aid trained. If there will be any serious cases, our team always be there to help you. Our Company always be touched with our Guide while you are on trek. We will keep your Insurance details. So in case of an Emergency, we will contact your Insurance and processed your rescue. Our guide will be walking with the First Aid Kit Box along Diamox to prevent Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Please we strongly suggest having your own Medicine while on the trek. We don’t recommend it as it can be new for you.

Travel insurance is compulsory to do any treks in Nepal. Make sure you have bought insurance before your arrival in Kathmandu or your hike. Insurance makes you feel safer during the trek in terms of Emergency. Make sure, your insurance will cover emergency evacuation and medical.

The weight limit is 15 kg for each person for your porter. One porter can be shared by two-person. Porter in your program is optional for you because some people prefer to carry their bags by themselves too. So please if you want to have a porter, during the trek, let us know!

Actually, we can’t say how much money you need to spend each day. In general, you need to pay for your drinks including tea/coffee, Internet, phone charging, and shower. Let’s say per day US$ 15- US$ 20 depending on your expenses.

We suggest you take cash while on the trek and it is better to have Rupees. You can change in Kathmandu. They hardly accept Credit cards or we can say No Credit Card.

Day or Acclimatization during your trek is very important. It helps you to avoid altitude sickness. All our Itinerary prepared by Scenic Nepal Treks is perfect in term of Acclimatization.

To Avoid attitude sickness or for your safety is our prime goal during the trek. Our Sherpa Guide and Company always be there to ensure that everything is going well and smoothly. In case of Emergency which is depends on Conditions and problems of you, we will take action. If the cases are normal such as Normal headache, normal vomiting, etc, we will do a cure while in the trial, if there are serious cases, we need to get you back to Kathmandu at the hospital.
Make sure, you have made good insurance that can cover your expenses such as medical, evacuation, etc. It is truly very effective in case there an emergency and to save your expense.

Yes, most of the Tea houses have a Wi-Fi connection. You need to pay for that. Easy and every place are different starting from US$ 2- $3 unlimited. Or, you may buy a Nepalese Sim Card and get mobile internet data. Upon your arrival here in Kathmandu, One of our Guide/Representatives will help you take you to the place where you can buy Sim Cards.

You start your day on the Trail with breakfast at the teahouse, where you sleep overnight. After breakfast, you carry your daypack and follow your guide to the next destination. On the way, you stop to take pictures and admire the scenery. At mid-day, you stop for lunch at a local teahouse. After spending an hour or so, you continue your hike up to your destination.

3 meals each day (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) will be provided during the trek. All the meals will be served as per menu and you can choose 1 time 1 meals what you like. You get to have Western and Indian Dishes such as Chapatti, Pizza, Local Dal Bhat (Rice and Curry), Spaghetti, Noodles, and many more.

We recommend you have Vegan meals during the trek. Sometimes meats and cheese items are not fresh.

During your entire trek in the Mountains from Pokhara to Pokhara, you will be staying at the Local Tea House/Lodge. Tea houses are known as very basic accommodation with private rooms that can be shared by 2 people. However, when you go higher from Chomrong, you will be sharing your rooms with 4/5 people as they do have limited rooms up there. You will get private beds with Mattress, Pillow, and a blanket.
Most of the tea house has their Bathroom outside of your room. Depending on the location, when you go higher, Accommodation becomes basic. We Scenic Nepal Treks will provide you Sleeping Bags as well.

Of course! You can travel with your friends and family on a private trip or join a strangers group. Our trips are customizable on your request. Please feel free to contact us anytime.

 

Yes, we have fixed departures every weekend or the following dates which are confirmed departures. So you can join our departures. A number of members in the group will be 1 to 10 maximum.

There is no special vaccine you need to have before your hike but please make sure you are fit and fine before you hike to Nepal. We do not have any cases yet but please prepare yourself for allergies, Diherria, Malaria, etc just in case.

To do this hike to Annapurna Base Camp, We need your Valid Passport with Nepal Tourist Visa. Furthermore, Please make sure you have made Insurance for your hike. It is mandatory to have insurance while doing the trek.
