The route of Everest Three Passes Trek is not different than Everest Gokyo Valley Trek but has slight tweaks in itinerary. Once trekkers reach Dingboche Valley trekkers take Kong Ma La Pass crossing route to reach Lobuche rather than through Thukla Pass route. Until Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar trekking activities are similar to Everest Base Camp Trekking. Trekkers then take route of Gokyo Valley Trekking from base camp. Places like Dzongla and Thagnak are situated sandwiching the Chola Pass. Trekkers perform activity of hiking Gokyo Ri or Fifth Lake before crossing Renjo La Pass to reach Thame Valley. This trekking route is also considered as around Khumbu trek in Nepal as well. Among these three high altitude passes each one has distinct characteristics and attractions. Kong ma La is considered as the most challenging pass to cross because of narrow passage and high altitude. Chola is popular and often crowded pass beside Cholatse Mountain. Renjo La Pass is definitely scenic with rewarding perspectives of Himalayas as far as Makalu and Everest. Trekkers should be cautious while walking on this trail and careful following of guide’s instructions might end up having momentous successful adventure walking holiday in Nepal.

Take a walk around monastery in evening before chilling out at dining hall of tea house. Overnight at Teahouse/Lodge.

The day will be picturesque because of rivers, forests and hilly landscape having mountains on background. Once trekkers trek past Pangboche and Somare there awaits the valley of Dingboche between Nagarshan hill, Chhukung Valley and Amadablam Mountain. Overnight at Teahouse/Lodge.

We ascend all the way up to top of Kong Ma La through very narrow trail. This is the most challenging junction out of three passes of Khumbu region. After crossing the pass trekkers reach Lobuche for much needed rest.  Lobuche is small tranquil village on bank of river facing the Kong Ma La Pass. Overnight at Teahouse/Lodge.

After climbing the Lobuche Pass we will have to walk through the moraine. The trail is rugged and rocky which requires careful walking. Journey from Dzongla is really a challenging one. We will cross the high altitude pass of Chola. Crossing of Renjo la is really full of excitement and challenge. Though it seems very small when you first see from Gokyo but as you walk on the trail the journey can be very tiresome. Rocky rugged trail make matter more badly and if it snows then slippery track might make it dangerous. It is said that most spectacular scenery of entire Khumbu is seen from top of Renjo la. From this pass trekkers descend to small village of Marlung.  Overnight at Teahouse/Lodge.
